The Trail Branch covers a large area in southern British Columbia, encompassing the towns of Trail (including Fruitvale, Montrose and Warfield), Castlegar, Grand Forks, Nelson and Rossland. Our current membership revolves around Teck, AMEC and other local engineering firms; this naturally progresses the branch to focus primarily on metallurgical related topics.
In late 2008, an initiative was brought forward to re-establish and rejuvenate the local CIM branch. An interim executive committee was formed with the help of the old executive team of as well as national CIM directive. The new executive committee is listed here.
The main focus of the Trail Branch is to promote professional development and networking among the members, through Distinguished Lecturer presentations (and possibly other events!).
For more details, please click on Calendar of Events in the left toolbar.
The cost of a local branch membership is $25 (local) + $10 (national fee). This includes:
- Member discounts at future events
- Networking with colleagues
- Education opportunities
We are looking to build a solid membership base for the present and the future so please show your support by joining the Trail CIM Branch today. CIM is a not-for-profit organization.
