CIM Technical Societies
CIM’s 10 technical societies strive to promote the development of the many facets of Canada’s minerals, metals, materials and petroleum industries. Technically driven, they come together to discuss issues of concern in their specific field pertaining to the discovery, production and utilization of resources.
Branches
Branches are organized geographically within three Districts across Canada to address the local needs of Members. They discuss regional issues concerning the industry and undertake CIM’s mission at a local level.
Student Chapters
CIM Student Chapters take education beyond the classroom. Through chapter events, meetings and field trips they provide students the opportunity to hone their networking skills and acquire critical knowledge they need to reach their career goals.
CIM Foundation
The CIM Foundation (CIMF) came to life in 1972 sponsored by a group of CIM members who recognized that there was a need to encourage students to be involved in the mining industry, to have ongoing education of the participants in the industry and also to educate the general public on the need for mining to sustain our way of life.
Young Leaders
CIM knows that to strengthen the mining industry for the future, students and young professionals need to be supported. CIM can help you develop your skills and build connections to achieve your goals with specialized events, discounted membership types, scholarships and more.
Committees & Groups
CIM has a number of standing and ad hoc committees that play a vital advisory role to CIM Council. Through their leadership efforts, guidelines, publications and events, these committees not only impact CIM members but also the greater mining communities in Canada and internationally.
