As a doctoral student sharing my work on health and safety in mining, it was an honour to be recognized by an industry that prioritizes safety and research. Presenting on the Expo floor and interacting with judges, attendees, and fellow students was incredibly valuable. Their questions challenged my knowledge, encouraged me to consider applications, and sparked ideas for future work. Overall, it was a great opportunity to connect with the mining industry.
